Katie Beith is new NAB Deputy Chair

Updated: Aug 26, 2022

It is with pleasure that we announce Katie Beith has been appointed as the Deputy Chair of the National Advisory Board for Impact Investing (NAB).

Katie joined the NAB in October 2020 and is delighted to continue her contribution to the NAB and the impact investing sector as Deputy Chair. “I’m excited to be the NAB’s Deputy Chair and continue to build on the momentum of impact investing at this important time for Aotearoa New Zealand”.

Katie has a passion for impact investing and has a strong background in this area, having joined Forsyth Barr in November 2021 as the Head of ESG where she is responsible for incorporating ESG (environment, social and governance) principles into Forsyth Barr’s firm-wide operations and investment strategy. Katie was previously with the New Zealand Super Fund as a Senior Investment Strategist for Responsible Investment where she was a key contributor to driving the Fund’s Climate Change Investment Strategy. Katie also currently serves on the External Reporting Board’s Stakeholder Advisory Panel (XRAP).

Katie’s background provides complementary skills, says Chair Alastair Rhodes. “We’re very fortunate to have the unique skills and passion Katie brings to the NAB and I’m looking forward to working alongside herself as Deputy Chair to ensure we deliver on our purpose to grow the NZ impact investing sector and help catalyse the transition to sustainable Aotearoa New Zealand”.

Katie will be the Deputy Chair for the next six months with the NAB operating a rotating Deputy Chair role to make full use of the diverse skills of its members.
